aid
Grant aid for woodland work is available from
a variety of sources.
- Forestry
Commission & DEFRA grant aid is currently in a state of flux!
The new England Woodland Grant Scheme will be launched during summer
2005 and we expect more money to be available for the management of
existing woodland. New planting grants will continue at a similar
rate, but eligibility will become more competitive. Funds
are likely to be limited for all of the grants, and so early applications
will be most likely to be successful.
- Some
local authorities offer small-scale tree and hedgerow planting grants.
- DEFRA’s
new HLS scheme will offer some money for tree planting, but at the
time of writing details are not available.
